About The Position

VCA Colonial Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to complement our talented team in beautiful Ithaca, New York. At VCA Colonial, our practice is the perfect mix of general medicine and specialty services. Specialties currently offered include surgery, oncology, internal medicine, and radiology. Our 16,000 square foot hospital is fully equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, in-house laboratory, and CT. We are a 17 doctor practice with a large support team that includes over 40 Licensed Technicians and Assistants. We are open seven days a week, and provide 24 hour hospitalized patient care. We have a great group of veterinarians who support each other and work well as a team.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in New York.
Experience in emergency veterinary medicine.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Proficiency with diagnostic equipment such as ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, in-house laboratory, and CT.
Willingness to participate in a Clinical Studies program.

Nice To Haves

Experience in surgery, oncology, internal medicine, or radiology.
Experience as a mentee or mentor in the VCA Academy’s Mentorship Program.

Responsibilities

Provide emergency veterinary care.
Work collaboratively with a team of veterinarians and support staff.
Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment including ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, in-house laboratory, and CT.
Manage hospitalized patients requiring 24-hour care.
Participate in a Clinical Studies program.
