Emergency Veterinarian - Overnight
About The Position
Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) in Portland, Maine is seeking an experienced Overnight Emergency Veterinarian. The role involves managing complex and critical cases, collaborating with a team of specialists, and providing compassionate, high-quality emergency care to patients and their families. The position supports continuity of care for pets and families relying on the hospital during emergencies. The schedule is seven overnight shifts per three-week period. The veterinarian will work in a state-of-the-art facility with advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies, including color-flow ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiography, an in-house laboratory, critical care monitoring, CT, MRI, high-flow oxygen, telemetry, cold laser, PulseVet shockwave, PRP, and stem cell therapy. The team is also preparing to transition into a new 42,000-square-foot hospital scheduled to open in 2026.
