About The Position

Westerville Veterinary Clinic is hiring an Emergency Veterinarian to provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to a variety of animals, including dogs and cats. Our ideal candidate has 6 months to 4 years of post-graduation experience and is ready for a more positive ER experience after working in a traditional emergency hospital environment that may not have been the right fit. The clinic offers a schedule that respects your time, stopping new emergency cases 1 hour before the end of each shift to allow for completion of medical records and patient care. Evening ER shifts end at 2:00 AM, facilitating a healthy sleep routine and work-life balance. The predictable rotating schedule is 5 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, and 5 days off for full-time positions, or every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for part-time positions, with flexibility to swap shifts. Daytime ER and general practice teams handle continuity of care for hospitalized patients. The clinic emphasizes a sustainable approach to emergency medicine, offering a 5 to 1 staff to doctor ratio for efficient practice and exceptional patient care. Partnership opportunities through Veterinary Practice Partners (VPP) are available, offering operational, marketing, and financial support with a pathway to ownership.

Requirements

6 months to 4 years of post-graduation experience.
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD degree from an accredited institution.
Valid veterinary license in the state of Ohio.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to a variety of animals, including dogs and cats.
Complete medical records.
Finish patient care.
Collaborate with daytime ER and general practice teams for continuity of care.
Develop advanced surgical skills, including GDVs, pyometras, C sections, splenectomies, and foreign body surgeries.
