About The Position

Open Door Mission, established in 1952, is dedicated to restoring hope and transforming lives for individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction, or trauma in Rochester. This role operates within the Samaritan's House Emergency Shelter & RAP Program, which includes a 24/7 drop-in warming center and a 60-bed men's dorm. The Case Aide provides support and encouragement to adult guests while ensuring safety and security within the Emergency Shelter. The organization seeks individuals who are passionate about balancing professional practices with compassionate, Christ-centered care and are interested in peer-to-peer employment opportunities, particularly in mental health and addiction, or those looking to expand their experience with the homeless sub-population.

Requirements

  • Willingness to receive training and provide assistance with CPR, First Aid, and Narcan administration.
  • 3 years' experience or peer coach certificate or equivalent may anticipate starting around $18.00 per hour.

  • Interest in peer-to-peer employment opportunities, particularly in the areas of mental health and addiction.
  • Experience in the behavioral health field and a desire to work with the homeless sub-population.

Responsibilities
