About The Position

The Emergency Room Technical Assistant supports patient care in Henry Ford Health’s Emergency Department under the direct supervision of registered nurses or providers. The role assists with care according to individual patient needs and within the scope of practice, helping the clinical team deliver timely, effective, compassionate care in a high-pressure, high-acuity environment. The position also helps maintain a safe and organized environment and collaborates with the healthcare team to enhance the patient experience.

The position is on the midnight shift, scheduled from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The role requires successful completion of a 180-day orientation period.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• BCLS certification.
• One of the following: B-EMT; graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program; completion of a formal nursing education program; completion of a formal medical doctor education program; or one year of applicable Emergency Room Technical experience in lieu of a completed certification or program. The applicable certification or program must be completed within 12 months of hire when using the experience alternative.
• Successful completion of a 180-day orientation period.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Emergency Department Technician or Medical Assistant experience.
• EMT license.
