About The Position

The Emergency Room Technical Assistant assists with patient care based on individual needs under the direct supervision of registered nurses or providers. The role supports the Emergency Department team in providing timely, effective care and helps maintain a safe, organized patient care environment. The position works within the scope of practice to provide technical assistance in emergency situations and requires successful completion of a 180-day orientation period.

This is a full-time afternoon position at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, scheduled for 36 hours per week from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• BCLS certification.
• One of the following: B-EMT certification; completion of a formal Medical Assistant program; completion of a formal nursing education program; or completion of a formal medical doctor education program.
• Alternatively, one year of applicable Emergency Room Technical experience; applicable certification or program must be completed within 12 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Emergency Department Technician or Medical Assistant experience.
• EMT license.
