About The Position
The Emergency Room Tech (ED Tech) is an unlicensed assistive person who helps provide patient care according to individual patient needs and within the scope of practice. The role also helps maintain a safe environment and is performed under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse. The position is full-time on the day shift at Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained as current.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintained as current.
Nice To Haves
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
Responsibilities
