About The Position
Saint Michael's Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Room Tech to assist with patient care in the Emergency Room. This unlicensed assistive person provides care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice, helps maintain a safe environment, and works under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse. Saint Michael's Medical Center is a 358-bed regional tertiary-care, teaching, and research center in Newark, New Jersey. It is a member of Prime Healthcare and is accredited by The Joint Commission.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within six months of hire and maintained thereafter.
Nice To Haves
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
