About The Position

Provides or assists with direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Prepares rooms for patient exams and assists physicians or nurses with procedures as needed. The role also supports patient and family clinical and service needs, performs specified patient-care tasks, and uses relevant equipment properly. Duties may include other major or minor functions not listed, and specific functions may change from time to time.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Emergency Room Tech or other patient care experience.
• Completion of a CNA, EMT, or Medical Assistant training program.
• CNA, EMT, or Medical Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, providers, and staff.
• Respond flexibly and cooperatively to varying and unpredictable situations.
• Proactively respond to the clinical and service needs of patients and families.
• Provide or assist with direct patient care under the supervision of a Nurse or Clinical Paramedic.
• Perform or assist with vital signs, laboratory specimen collection, venipuncture, urine or stool collection, EKGs, and application of external monitoring devices.
• Assist nurses or providers with procedures and assessments as needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and properly use equipment necessary to perform job duties.
• Prepare rooms for patient exams.
