About The Position

This is an urgent care coverage position for a Physician Assistant (PA) with Emergency Medicine experience. The role involves providing care for low to moderate acuity cases for patients of all ages. The initial contract is for 3 months with the potential to extend. The position is for night coverage, from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, and is located in either Duluth, GA or Jonesboro, GA. Credentialing takes approximately 21 days. This is a 1099 independent contractor role.

Requirements

• Active Georgia licensure
• Board certification
• AHA BLS certification
• Minimum 1-year Emergency Medicine experience or equivalent
• Active and unencunbered physician assistant (PA) license in Georgia
• National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
• At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
• Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
• Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
