Emergency Medicine NP/PA
About The Position
We are seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in the Emergency Department. This is a locum tenens position at a 74-bed acute care hospital in Gloversville, NY. The role involves providing clinical coverage for emergency department patients, with approximately 21,000 annual ED visits. The NP/PA will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients, performing emergency medicine procedures, and documenting encounters in the Meditech EMR system. Collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital personnel is essential for coordinated patient care.
Requirements
- Active New York Nurse Practitioner License or Active New York Physician Assistant License
- Current AANP/ANCC Certification for NPs or NCCPA Certification for PAs
- Active DEA Registration with New York Address and Schedules II, IIN, III, IIIN, IV, and V
- ACLS and PALS (AHA) certifications
- Graduate of an Accredited NP or PA Program
- Moderate Sedation Competency
- Previous 2 Years of Case Logs
- Minimum 50 Category I CME Credits During Previous 2 Years
- Annual Influenza Vaccine
- Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
- Current Physical Exam
- Annual N95 Fit Test
- Titers for MMR, Hepatitis B, and Varicella
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, Diagnose, and Treat Emergency Department Patients
- Perform Emergency Medicine Procedures Within Scope of Practice
- Provide Patient Care in a Community Hospital Emergency Department
- Document Patient Encounters in Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with Physicians, Nursing Staff, and Hospital Personnel to Coordinate Patient Care
