Locum Emergency Medicine APP OR MD
About The Position
This role involves working in a Hybrid Emergency Department/Inpatient setting in Hazen, ND, providing sole provider coverage for both emergency and inpatient care. Candidates must be proficient in emergency medicine and capable of performing inpatient procedures. The position requires 24-hour consecutive shifts from September 7-12, with orientation on September 4. Providers should remain available until 3 PM to accommodate potential travel delays of incoming providers. There are no average nightly callbacks; solo coverage overnight includes patient evaluations as part of the role. The facility has an average of 9 ED encounters and 6 inpatient encounters daily. There is no ICU capacity on-site, and the nearest critical care transfer facility is in Bismarck, ND. Competency in emergency and inpatient procedures is expected. Telemedicine support is available 24/7 through Avel E-Care for ED and inpatient settings, and RPG's Compass Telemed offers subspecialty assistance for Cardiology, Infectious Disease, and Pulmonology. The EMR system is Epic. On-site apartment and additional sleeping arrangements are provided. Temporary privileges and expedited licensing options for ND are available.
Requirements
- ND-Licensed APP or Physician with Emergency Medicine Experience
- Proficient in emergency medicine
- Capable of performing inpatient procedures
- Board Certification: Mandatory
- Life Support Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and ATLS
- Active North Dakota license
