The coordinator develops and shares materials that help residents understand how to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies. They assist in maintaining and updating the City’s emergency operations plans, and help organize trainings, drills, and other preparedness activities. The role also supports documentation and reporting requirements and works closely with the Emergency Manager and partner agencies to strengthen preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts across the community. Ultimately, the Emergency Management Coordinator helps build a stronger, more resilient community—one that is informed, prepared, and ready to respond when emergencies arise. This is a part-time, temporary position. The length of the assignment will vary depending on the pay offered and the hours the selected employee is able to work.
