About The Position

The Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) works within a multidisciplinary team caring for emergency department patients under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse. The role supports communication, coordination of patient care, and department flow, and helps maintain an efficient work area. Duties include collecting, processing, transporting, and analyzing specimens according to approved testing standards and laboratory policies and procedures, as well as providing patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. The position is part-time on the third shift in Lexington, Kentucky, in an emergency department that provides 24-hour care for patients requiring urgent medical attention.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completion of first-year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with the level of education.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; applicants who are not already certified must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.

Nice To Haves

Previous laboratory or customer service experience.
Data entry and computer experience and/or phlebotomy or point-of-care testing experience.
