About The Position
At CHI Mercy Health, the ED Tech supports safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department by performing functions delegated by an RN or physician. The role involves conducting selected diagnostics and procedures, assisting with patient transport and lifting, and providing general clerical and cleaning support to the unit. The ED Tech executes delegated tasks, supports unit operations, and contributes to a safe and efficient care environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of direct patient care experience, or Paramedic certification, or EMT certification, or completion of the second term of a Nursing Curriculum.
- AHA BLS.
Nice To Haves
- Emergency Department and/or phlebotomy experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to physicians with procedures and treatments.
- Coordinate patient care with professional and support staff.
- Perform delegated patient care tasks.
- Monitor patient vital signs and notify the RN or physician of changes.
- Conduct selected diagnostics and procedures.
- Assist with patient transport and lifting.
- Provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit.
