About The Position

The Emergency Department Technician (EDT) assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice and under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. The EDT provides supportive care to Emergency Department patients and performs approved procedures in accordance with policy. The role also assists patients with activities of daily living and helps maintain a safe and clean environment.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old prior to the start date.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Spoken and written communication skills.
• Team-building skills.
• Ability to perform duties in a self-directed manner.
• Minimum Wisconsin EMT-Basic license.
• Current BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience as an EMT.
• One year of acute care hospital experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
