About The Position

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks an Emergency Department Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of appropriate licensed personnel. The role supports patients’ daily living activities by providing clerical, physical, and emotional assistance, and assists licensed personnel in managing critically ill patients. The technician also assists with workflow for unlicensed assistive personnel in the department.

Requirements

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
• For the Emergency Department: California Emergency Medical Technician certification, California Emergency Medical Technician–Paramedic certification, or National EMT certification.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Ability to use computer charting (electronic medical record) and computer order entry.
• Patient Care Tech or equivalent experience in an acute care, emergency, or pre-hospital setting.

Responsibilities
