About The Position

The Emergency Department Tech prepares rooms and specialty care areas for patient use, assists with patient transfers and discharges, provides patient care, performs routine treatment procedures, and assists nurses and physicians with complicated treatment procedures. The position works in a fast-paced emergency department environment supporting patient care and a positive patient experience.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent GED.
• Nationally Registered EMT Basic, completion of one clinical semester of nursing school, completion of a Combat Lifesaver or similar course, or equivalent relative ER experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation before providing patient care.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) through retraining for the duration of employment.
• Complete the MANDT relational course within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with a Nationally Registered EMT Advanced or Paramedic qualification.
• Current experience in phlebotomy, arrhythmia recognition, and 12-lead EKG.
• Hospital experience.
• Relative ER or military experience.
• EMT Basic, Advanced, or Paramedic certification; Combat/Military medic training; or one year of nursing school.
• Completion of the MANDT technical course.
