About The Position
The Emergency Department Technician is an unlicensed, non-certified assistive person who works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. The role assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients, and helps maintain a safe environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current EMT certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential, if required by the state.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office is preferred.
