ED Tech - Emergency Department
About The Position
The Emergency Department Technician is an unlicensed, non-certified assistive person who works in the Emergency Unit at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, the technician assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients, and helps maintain a safe environment. The position is full-time and scheduled for day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in 12-hour shifts. The reasonable compensation estimate, including wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $18.00 to $26.68. Exact starting compensation is determined when an applicant is selected, considering factors such as skillset, applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure. The employer offers a benefits package with options employees can tailor to their needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current EMT certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, if required by the state.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current certification.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office is preferred.
