About The Position
The ED Tech is an unlicensed, non-certified assistive person in the Emergency Department. Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, the technician assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients, and helps maintain a safe environment. The position is part-time, with evening shifts of 12 hours, at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current EMT certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, if required by the state.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current certification.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients.
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
