This full-time position involves operating a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system to monitor calls and dispatch units to various SJMHS Hospital facilities. The role includes logging call times, interviewing callers to gather incident details, and providing assistance to security units with information checks and inter-departmental communication. The specialist will respond to disaster alerts, activate emergency incident command, and simultaneously manage multiple audio and visual sources. Responsibilities also include monitoring and documenting various alarms (Cardiac Arrest, Patient/Employee Injuries, Hugs, Temp Track, Passport, Fire, SJMHS Panic Alarms, Building Intrusion Alarms, and Emergency 911 Prep Radio Alarms), evaluating security dispatch calls for potential dangers or policy violations, and monitoring CCTV systems to dispatch security for suspicious activity. The role involves managing refrigerator alarms, monitoring Lennel System alarms, acting as a liaison for parking citation processing, and responding to the E-911 system. Additionally, the specialist will coordinate calls for service for reception departments, maintain daily logs and security-related documents, and foster good working relationships with internal and external departments. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and maintaining knowledge of applicable laws and organizational policies.
