About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Development Engineer with experience in real-time embedded software development to lead requirements, design and development activities of safety-critical airborne systems. The ideal candidate will be capable of receiving systems requirements and able to guide the development lifecycles to satisfy DO-178 objectives. This individual will provide technical leadership across development activities as well as provide input to certification and verification teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline.
  • Strong experience in embedded software development.
  • Applicable hands-on 7+ years of experience with real-time embedded systems.
  • Strong understanding of: Real-Time Embedded Systems (RTES), Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), Safety-critical software development, C/C++ or similar embedded languages, Python and other equivalent scripting languages.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigation skills.
  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required. Dual citizenship should be disclosed.
  • Able to travel approximately up to four weeks in a year.

Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end software development activities for embedded aerospace and defense systems from concept to integration.
  • Collaborate across systems, hardware, software, verification, and certification teams.
  • Ensure compliance of safety-critical software in accordance with DO-178 objectives by supporting certification audits, reviews and data package development.
  • Define, solve and defend technical decisions to stakeholders while guiding technical implementation; including conducting of formal design reviews.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate capturing of high-level and low-level requirements.
  • Accurate and effective implementation of requirements into design and code.
  • Support development efforts in alignment to developed schedules and quality objectives while interfacing with stakeholders to communicate technical status.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
