About The Position
Ampcus Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Development Engineer in Murrysville, Pennsylvania. The engineer participates in the full software development process and works in pairing mode with peers to develop high-quality medical device software that meets product requirements. Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- With a bachelor's degree, at least 5 years of experience in Software Development, Software Design and Architecture, Testing and Quality Assurance, or equivalent; with a master's degree, at least 3 years of prior experience.
- Firmware design and development for embedded applications using C/C++.
- Software development experience in the medical industry or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience working with hardware domains, such as circuit analysis, microelectronics, or computer architecture.
- Experience implementing, tuning, and debugging firmware or hardware algorithms.
- Experience with firmware/hardware integration testing and troubleshooting.
- Experience with software configuration management using GitHub.
- Experience providing quality documentation aligned with medical device standards.

Responsibilities
- Integrate software components and third-party libraries into existing systems, ensuring functionality and interoperability with minimal disruption.
- Conduct and participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Analyze and optimize application performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks and ensuring software meets performance benchmarks.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends and incorporate tools and methodologies that improve development processes and product quality.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and other cross-functional partners to define, design, and ship features aligned with project goals and user needs.
- Resolve moderate-complexity requests creatively, exercising good judgment in selecting methods and techniques.
