About The Position

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. The role delivers professional services with an emphasis on each guest’s total look and supports the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager, focusing on service sales and productivity, guest service, and compliance with operating procedures and standards. It requires a passion for beauty, exceptional guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge. The stylist performs a range of hair and related beauty services, works to meet sales and productivity goals, builds guest relationships and clientele, and supports store events and initiatives. The role also involves following safety and sanitation procedures, maintaining operational standards, attending training, and adhering to company policies and the dress code. A cosmetology license and previous relevant work experience are required. The schedule is flexible and includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Cosmetology license.
Previous relevant work experience.
Proficiency with salon techniques for haircutting, hair color, lightening, styling, texture, treatments, extensions, makeup, brow services, and applicable ear-piercing services, or aptitude to develop skills in all service categories.
Proficiency using equipment and chemicals needed to perform technical work.
Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair-care and makeup products.
Developed communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Perform hair and applicable beauty services, including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, brow services, and ear piercing.
Meet or exceed the average weekly sales goal of $1,900 and hair-service productivity goals; contribute to store retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink goals.
Demonstrate products to guests to support sales and the guest experience.
Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
Stay informed about industry trends, products, services, ingredients, and benefits during work time.
Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations.
Serve walk-in and other guests in a timely and efficient manner.
Partner with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a well-rounded guest experience.
Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners to support exceptional guest service.
Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continued professional development.
Follow company policies, procedures, standards, and state board guidelines.
Follow safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures before, during, and after services.
Follow service protocols and use booking and clientele systems to schedule return services and events.
Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
Maintain cleanliness and operational standards in assigned store areas.
Follow the company dress code and loss-prevention practices to protect company assets.
Complete other operational tasks as directed.
