About The Position

Precision Elevator Corp., part of the American Elevator Group (AEG), is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for the Brooklyn/NYC Metro area. This role involves providing monthly service to customer elevators, ensuring proper functioning through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing or replacing defective parts. AEG, backed by Arcline Investment Management, is a rapidly growing entity in the elevator industry.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Mechanic
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals and/or related technical documents
  • Experience as a route mechanic
  • Ability to follow established safety, maintenance and/or testing procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical malfunctions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with rack & pinion and/or crane repair experience is helpful
  • CET is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting elevators of all types and makes, determining the cause of faulty operation, making repairs and adjustments, and troubleshooting problems.
  • Diagnosing equipment deficiencies and making recommendations for major changes or requirements.
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing elevators, escalators, and other lifting equipment.
  • Analyzing and repairing failures, especially in emergency situations.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.
  • Repairing or replacing defective parts.
  • Conducting regular inspections to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Responding to emergency repair calls in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Providing excellent customer service to building owners and occupants.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
