The Elevator Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining elevators in commercial and residential buildings. This role involves inspecting elevator systems, identifying issues, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems. The position requires licensing in IL and/or WI.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience installing residential elevators, wheelchair lifts and LULA elevators
  • Knowledge of ASME A17.1 and A18.1
  • Ability to read and understand installation blueprints and drawings including all electrical and electronic schematics and knowledge with a focus on industrial mechanics
  • Certified Elevator Mechanic License in at least one of the following states: IL and/or WI
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to lift heavy loads
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, dimensional drawings/specifications and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with customers on a positive basis

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all installation work is completed per job requirements
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed during installation
  • Read and interpret schematics and blueprints
  • Provide excellent customer service while on-site
  • Conduct field service visits to ensure elevator functionality
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks to keep elevators in optimal condition
  • Ensures jobsite is neat and clean
  • Works with inspectors to ensure work passes all required inspections
  • Supervise apprentices
