About The Position

Residential Elevators is hiring a full-time, paid Elevator Install Mechanic Apprentice in the Virginia Beach, Virginia area. The apprenticeship is intended for people starting a long-term career in the skilled trades. Apprentices receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced elevator mechanics while learning to install and service custom residential elevators. Most apprentices are promoted to Service Technician or Installation Mechanic within 12–18 months, with stated earning potential of $60,000–$90,000 or more after promotion. The starting pay is $18.00–$24.00 per hour. The role involves travel, primarily regional travel from Virginia Beach, and may require travel up to 90% of the time. Work is on the road and includes physical labor, work at heights, and work in tight spaces.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 90% of the time.
• Physical capability to lift more than 50 pounds and perform hard physical work.
• Comfort working at heights, on ladders, and in tight spaces.
• Knowledge of how to safely use hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
