About The Position

Residential Elevators is hiring a full-time, paid Elevator Mechanic Apprentice for work in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area. The apprentice program is intended for people starting a long-term career in the skilled trades. Apprentices receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced elevator mechanics while learning to install and service residential elevators. Most apprentices are promoted to Service Technician or Installation Mechanic within 12–18 months, with earning potential of $60,000–$90,000 or more after promotion. The work is on the road and involves substantial travel, mostly regional travel from Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Residential Elevators was founded in 1996 and manufactures, installs, and services custom residential elevators made in the United States. The company has more than 200 employees and operates in more than 15 states.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 90%, mostly regional travel from Virginia Beach, Virginia.
• Physical capability to lift more than 50 pounds and perform hard physical work.
• Comfort working at heights, on ladders, and in tight spaces.
• Knowledge of how to safely use hand tools.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
