About The Position

The Elementary Teacher helps students learn subject matter and skills that contribute to their development as mature, capable, and responsible people prepared to shape tomorrow. The teacher manages and educates students, develops and implements engaging lesson plans, documents and shares student grades and evaluations, and maintains a safe, inviting, and nurturing learning environment. The role supports student success, safety and well-being, stewardship of District resources, and partnerships with families and the community. This is a nine-month position at Santa Fe Elementary in Peoria, Arizona, supervised by the principal at the assigned location.

Requirements

Hold a valid intern, provisional, or standard Arizona Teaching Certificate, or possess the necessary qualifications to become certified in Arizona.
Possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Pass a background clearance check.
Obtain and maintain a valid government-issued ID.
Specialized teaching assignments may require additional training and/or certification.
May be required to lift and carry supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds and lift students weighing up to 60 pounds.
May be required to work outside normal working hours and travel to perform work functions.

Responsibilities

Manage and educate students while helping them discover and fulfill their potential.
Develop and implement creative and engaging lesson plans.
Document and share student grades and evaluations.
Cultivate a creative learning environment and maintain a safe, inviting, and nurturing space for students, staff, and the community.
Set and maintain classroom behavior standards and uphold District discipline policies.
Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the regular instructional day when required or requested under reasonable terms.
Foster positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and community members.
Maintain accurate and complete records required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
Perform other duties as assigned.
