About The Position
Brightmont Academy seeks a part-time elementary teacher to provide personalized one-to-one instruction to students. The academy serves students in grades 1–12 and offers a nurturing, student-centered environment. Teachers tailor lessons to individual student needs and learning styles and guide students toward mastery using a gradual release approach. Lesson planning, parent conferences, and grading are not required. Professional development opportunities are available. The advertised pay is $22–$23 per hour.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a subject area, such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
- Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students with different learning needs.
- Genuine passion for teaching and sharing a subject with students.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Orton-Gillingham training.
- Teaching certification; noted as preferred but not required.
- Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise.
- Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
