About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time elementary teacher to provide personalized one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. Teachers tailor lessons to students’ individual needs and learning styles, and guide them toward mastery using a gradual-release approach that supports confidence and academic success. The role emphasizes teaching and student support without lesson planning, parent conferences, or extensive grading. Professional development opportunities are available. The listed pay is $22–$23 per hour.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a subject area, such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
- Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students with different learning needs.
- Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject knowledge.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Orton-Gillingham training.
- Teaching certification; not required.
- Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise.
- Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
