About The Position

Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time elementary teacher to provide personalized, one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. Teachers tailor instruction to each student’s needs and learning style, using a gradual-release approach to help students build confidence and achieve academic mastery. The position offers a flexible schedule and does not require lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading outside of instruction. Professional development opportunities are available.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area, such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
• Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students with different learning needs.
• Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject-area knowledge with students.
• Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
• Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Orton-Gillingham training.
• Teaching certification; it is not required.
• Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise.
• Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
