About The Position

BASIS Prescott is hiring a 1st Grade Elementary Teacher to join its team, with a start date of January 2027. In BASIS Ed’s co-teaching model, the Learning Expert Teacher (LET) works alongside Subject Expert Teachers (SETs), who handle the main instruction in classes. This allows the LET to focus on students’ individual learning needs and outcomes rather than preparing multiple lessons each day.

LETs cultivate a joyful learning culture, customize education to meet students’ individual needs, and use elementary education expertise to support student achievement. The K–3 classrooms (or K–4, depending on campus location) are co-taught by two elementary teachers. BASIS teachers use the BASIS Charter School Curriculum while having autonomy and academic freedom to create dynamic lessons that foster enthusiasm for new ideas and high-level learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Demonstrated passion for student achievement and directed effort to raise individual student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for one cohort of students and lead them through classroom transitions during the day.
• Collaborate with the Subject Expert Teacher (SET) for each class period.
• Use expertise in elementary education teaching methods to provide individualized or small-group instruction that meets students’ differentiated needs.
• Establish and maintain student behavior standards needed to achieve a functional classroom learning atmosphere.
