About The Position

BASIS Phoenix Primary is seeking a Long Term Substitute Elementary Teacher for an immediate start. In BASIS Ed’s co-teaching model, Learning Expert Teachers (LETs) collaborate with Subject Expert Teachers (SETs), who handle the main instruction for their classes. This arrangement allows LETs to focus on students’ individual results and differentiated learning needs rather than preparing multiple lessons each day.

Elementary classrooms are co-taught by two teachers. LETs cultivate a joyful learning culture, customize education to students’ individual needs, and use their elementary education expertise to support student achievement. The role is responsible for one cohort of students and includes leading classroom transitions, collaborating with SETs, providing individualized or small-group instruction, and maintaining classroom behavior standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Demonstrated passion for student achievement and directed effort to raise individual student outcomes.
• Strong technology skills.
• Experience working with Microsoft Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for one cohort of students and lead them through classroom transitions during the day.
• Collaborate with the Subject Expert Teacher for each class period.
• Use elementary education teaching methods to provide individualized or small-group instruction that meets students’ differentiated needs.
• Establish and maintain student behavior standards needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
• Focus on individual student results and needs to support students’ ability to learn.
