About The Position

Flagstaff Academy seeks a school counselor for the 2026-27 school year to provide holistic counseling services to K-5th grade students. The role focuses on enhancing personal/social, academic, and career success. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, short-term and group counseling, 504 plan coordination, consultation with teachers and parents, participation in the MTSS process, behavior interventions, academic planning and support, and transition planning. The counselor will collaborate with the elementary school assistant principal and mental health team to develop a comprehensive school counseling program for K-8 students. Data collection and reporting, parent collaboration, and district meetings are also expected.

Requirements

Master's Degree in school counseling
Experience working with 504 plans and students with disabilities
Ability to maintain high ethical and legal standards in a school setting
Knowledge of the ASCA National Model
Current Colorado school counselor license
Ability to interpret and communicate student data
Strong systems orientation and commitment to follow-through
Experience working with elementary students

Responsibilities

Provide holistic counseling services to K-5th grade students.
