About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated professional to join our team as an Elementary School Counselor/Social Worker. The ideal candidate will provide support, guidance, and resources to students, families, and staff, fostering a positive and inclusive school environment. This full-time position requires a strong commitment to the social, emotional, and academic well-being of elementary-aged children.

Requirements

Master’s degree in School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
Valid Indiana certification or licensure as a School Counselor or Social Worker.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school or community setting is preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff.
Knowledge of child development, social emotional learning (SEL), mental health issues, and counseling techniques
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school community.
Proficiency in using technology and data management systems for record-keeping and reporting.
CPR and First Aid certification is a plus

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create a supportive learning environment.
Implement programs and workshops focused on social skills, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation.
Facilitate crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies.
Maintain accurate records of student interactions, assessments, and progress.
Advocate for students at IEP and other student focused meetings
Participate in school meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities.
Promote a safe and inclusive school culture that values diversity and equity.
Stay informed about current trends and best practices in school counseling and social work.
