About The Position

Flagstaff Academy seeks a school counselor for the 2026-27 school year. The candidate will provide holistic counseling services to K-5th grade students to enhance personal/social, academic, and career success. Roles include crisis intervention, short-term counseling, group counseling, 504 plan coordination, consultation with teachers and parents, participation in our MTSS (formerly RtI) process, behavior interventions, academic planning and support, and transition planning. The candidate will work closely with the elementary school assistant principal and the mental health team to enhance a comprehensive school counseling program to meet the needs of K-8 school. Collection and reporting of data, parent collaboration, district meetings are also expected.

Requirements

Master's Degree in school counseling
Experience working with 504 plans and students with disabilities
Ability to maintain high ethical and legal standards in a school setting
Knowledge of the ASCA National Model
Willingness to work in a comprehensive counseling program
Current Colorado school counselor license
Ability to interpret and communicate student data
Strong systems orientation and commitment to follow-through
Experience working with elementary students

Employees contribute 11% of monthly earnings while Flagstaff Academy contributes 21.4% to the PERA pension trust fund on the employee’s behalf.
