About The Position

The Elementary Education Teacher (K-6) is responsible for planning, organizing, and presenting instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills contributing to their cognitive, physical, and social/emotional development in the 21st century. This role requires the ability to differentiate instruction, analyze situations, make data-driven decisions, and utilize various technologies and classroom tools. The teacher will also manage instructional time and student behavior, motivate students, consult with stakeholders, and monitor student performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an approved education program in subject area
  • NC Teaching License or have qualifications to obtain a NC Teaching License
  • Strong background in North Carolina Standard Course of Study/Common Core and Essential Standards
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and continuously improve instruction
  • Ability to analyze situations, determine possible options, and make appropriate decisions based on the data
  • Must be able to use a variety of technology and classroom tools
  • Ability to manage instructional time and student behavior
  • Ability to motivate students
  • Ability to consult with parents, teachers, administrators and the community to enhance the learning of students
  • Ability to monitor student performance
  • Ability to interact within the educational environment
  • Hold a current North Carolina Professional Educators license for his/her area of assignment
  • Hold or be eligible to hold a North Carolina Professional Educators license in Elementary Education (K-6)
