About The Position

This person performs all office functions for the elementary school. Responsible for keeping the elementary principal informed of all situations affecting the school and handling routine activities/situations in the principal's absence.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Successful progressive office preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Must be efficient with computers, various software applications, and related technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications is required.
  • The ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously is a must.
  • Safeguard all district data.
  • Possess sound, independent judgment, including handling of confidential matters.

  • One year of additional technical/business training or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Building registrar – schedule students, withdraw students, manage student records.
  • Support scheduling and record keeping of internal and external professional development, including travel.
  • Schedule and arrange facilities for staff and other meetings.
  • Process and maintain materials and information.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of various databases and inventories.
  • Process and track purchases and maintain account balances and financial records.
  • Process work orders, bus requests, conference requests
  • Assist with assigning staff when substitutes are not available.
  • Prepare confidential student reports and staff evaluations, weekly staff notes/calendar, staff meeting notes, and monthly/yearly school event calendar.
  • Maintain immunization records, accident reports, and administer medication and first aid.
  • Train and supervise office paraprofessionals.
  • Create school-related messages for parents, students, and staff.
  • Fine motor skills and ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, to lift and move equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with reasonable accommodations.
  • Able to ride in a vehicle, as necessary (e.g., training on occasion)
  • Able to work indoors during all seasons/weather/temperatures as permitted.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize work effectively.
  • Communicate effectively via district-assigned email on a daily basis as determined by the supervisor.
  • Accurately complete electronic time sheets and absence reporting via the timekeeping system, per assigned deadlines
