About The Position

The Electrophysiology Tech II works in the Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla EP Lab, which provides cardiac mapping, arrhythmia ablation, and implantable rhythm management procedures. The position supports advanced specialty procedures in an EP or Interventional Cath Lab by scrubbing and/or monitoring hemodynamics, and may teach others these roles and procedures. This is a casual (per diem) position with varied 10.25-hour day shifts based on departmental needs. The role requires availability to cover on-call Saturday shifts approximately once every 10 weeks.

Requirements

Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
At least 3 years of experience in an EP Lab and/or Interventional Cath Lab.
Ability to monitor or scrub advanced specialty procedures in an EP or Interventional Cath Lab.
Advanced proficiency and technical competence in scrubbing and/or hemodynamic monitoring of advanced specialty procedures.
Advanced proficiency and technical competence in teaching others these roles and procedures.
Ability to manage and prioritize tasks during crises or high-stress situations.
Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.

Nice To Haves

Current ACLS from the American Heart Association.
Graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program or equivalent military program.
Current RCIS and/or RCES certification.

Responsibilities

Scrub and/or provide hemodynamic monitoring for advanced specialty procedures in an EP or Interventional Cath Lab.
Teach others roles and procedures, including advanced procedures such as TAVR, Mitral Clip, Lariat, Watchman, and complex peripheral procedures.
Manage and prioritize tasks during crises or high-stress situations.
Cover on-call Saturday shifts approximately once every 10 weeks.
