About The Position

Scripps Health is hiring a Surgical Tech for a full-time position at Scripps Memorial La Jolla. The role supports a broad range of surgeries in an expanding operating-room team that includes 19 ORs and 4 Cardiac ORs at a magnet facility. Procedures include trauma and heart surgery. The position has varied 12-hour shifts and is bonus eligible. A $4,000 new-hire incentive and a $3,000 relocation incentive are offered to eligible candidates moving from 100 or more miles away. Internal candidates and rehires who left Scripps less than three years ago are not eligible for hiring incentives. Retention incentive eligibility requires remaining in the original hired FTE status and shift, department or specialty, and job title. Transfers to other locations are reviewed case by case and may result in forfeiture of the remaining incentive unless the offer letter specifies otherwise.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist or completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to multitask and work well in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of experience.
• CST certification.
