About The Position

The Electronic Systems Verification & Validation Senior Engineer works with an engineering team to verify and validate embedded software and develop expertise in the electrical and electronic systems used in Caterpillar products and technologies. The role performs system integration testing using Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) methodologies to deliver reliable software for internal and external customers. The position is based onsite in Irving, Texas, five days per week, and requires less than 10% domestic travel. Relocation assistance is listed as unavailable in the role details; a later posting statement says relocation is available. Visa sponsorship is not available. The engineer works with machine system coordinators and electronic system design engineers to define testing priorities and coverage, and with system engineers to translate machine feature requirements into test plans. The role implements and executes tests, performs regression and delta-content testing, documents results, troubleshoots software features on RTOS- and Linux-based systems, develops automated test scripts, and supports test bench capabilities and liquid-cooled devices in an electrical test environment. Work includes compliance with functional safety and ISO 9001 requirements, defect-tracking reports, and selection of future test environments and tools.
