About The Position

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience, along with at least two years of leadership experience (or equivalent leadership training) and two years of experience in financial services.
  • Must be bondable upon hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop team members by setting clear expectations, providing meaningful feedback, supporting professional growth, and fostering accountability for results.
  • Strong knowledge of payment operations and regulatory compliance, including electronic payments, ACH, wires, debit and credit cards, audit requirements, risk management practices, and safeguarding confidential Member information.
  • Proven problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify process enhancements, streamline workflows, improve operational efficiency, and support organizational objectives through innovative thinking and sound business judgment.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills with the ability to cultivate trust, partner across departments, navigate change effectively, and support a positive team culture aligned with Royal’s values.
  • Proficiency with technology and digital tools, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn new technologies that support operational excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous Royal Credit Union experience.
  • AAP (Accredited Automated Clearing House Professional) and/or APRP (Accredited Payments Risk Professional) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise an assigned team of Electronic Payments Specialists and assist the Payment Services Manager with the overall operations of the department.
  • Coordinate the workflow for a variety of duties related to debit, credit, prepaid cards, ACH, wires, check processing, negative shares, levies, workers compensation, and shared branch administration.
  • Actively seek out and implement process improvement/reengineering opportunities (procedural or automated) to improve efficiency, productivity, and service levels of the payment operations team.
