About The Position

Responsible for the initiation and maintenance of long-term EEG monitoring equipment and the technical evaluation of the data obtained during monitoring process. Professionally performs EEGs, EEG brain death evaluation, Electrocorticography, Transcranial Doppler, Brainstem Auditory and Visual Evoked Potential studies utilizing the technical standards established by the American EEG Society and Neuro-diagnostic lab protocols.

Requirements

  • High school graduated with college level training or experience, preferably in an allied medical field
  • One-year experience as an Electroneurodiagnostic (EEG) Technician preferred
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card
  • Knowledge of clerical skills and medical terminology
  • Skill in performing EEG procedures
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Skill in performing Evoked Potential Studies
  • Ability to deal with physicians, hospital staff, patients and their family members in a tactful and diplomatic manner
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping
  • Frequent lifting/moving patients
  • Intermittent lifting, moving or carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs
  • Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity
  • Constant reaching with hands/arms
  • Frequent talking or hearing
  • Corrected hearing and vision to normal range
  • Exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue
  • Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment
  • Intermittent exposure to risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens
  • Moderate noise level in work area
  • Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours
