About The Position
The Electro-Mechanical Technician will be able to maintain and repair equipment related to the operation of a gelatine manufacturing facility. This individual is required to reduce downtime, respond to equipment failures and be able to conduct preventive maintenance for operations to continue over a 24 hour time period. Support the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and FSSC 22000 management systems and the Quality, Environmental, and Food Safety Policy as appropriate in the function.
Requirements
- Technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Successfully pass both Mechanical and Electrical Aptitude qualification test with a 80% or higher
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a batch or continuous process food or chemical production environment is preferred.
- Experience with PLC control systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform work tasks as directed by the General Maintenance Supervisor
- Maintenance and repair of equipment related to the operation of a gelatine manufacturing facility including mechanical, plumbing, pipefitting, welding, rigging, and machining
- Advanced Electronic/Instrumentation Troubleshooting/Repair.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair Process Logic Control (PLC) Systems
- Follow company policies and procedures while maintaining equipment
- Follow safety policies and procedures in the plant.
- Maintain a clean maintenance shop by keeping good sanitation, housekeeping, and GMP standards.
- Ammonia refrigeration troubleshooting/repair.
- Utility troubleshooting/repair (ie. Boilers).
- Perform all tasks that can be completed by a Mechanic
