About The Position

Tomorrow.io is seeking a full-time Electro-Mechanical Technician to join a cutting-edge, multidisciplinary team focused on executing complex development programs. This role is critical to the production, assembly, inspection, test, and integration lifecycle of flight-ready hardware for Tomorrow.io's weather observation constellation. The technician will be involved in avionics and electronic component integration and assembly, harnessing build and troubleshooting, structural assembly, electronics testing, and integrated system testing, directly contributing to Tomorrow.io’s weather monitoring capabilities.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in Aerospace, or a similarly regulated production environment, with a proven track record of the entire production process including assembly, inspection, and test of subassemblies, and working with top-level assemblies (integration).
Exceptional time-management and organizational qualities to ensure all deadlines are met and responsibilities are completed on time.
Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, PCBA layouts, schematics, and BOM tools.
Knowledge and understanding of industry standards (e.g. IPC, ESD, clean room practices, space hardware handling).
Proficient working in a Manufacturing Execution System (e.g. Ion, Pride, Epsilon 3, Manufacturo).
Ability to coordinate and communicate with technical, operational, and leadership teams.
Familiarity with lab equipment (e.g. multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscope, inspection scopes).
Familiarity with testing scripts, able to execute (and develop) scripts for hardware testing.
Diligence with following processes, documentation of tasks and recording results.
Flexibility/adaptability; ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
Excellent communication, ability to communicate clearly and effectively via verbal and written methods.
Escalates issues immediately, facilitates corrective action proactively and quickly.
High integrity, strong sense of ownership and pride in workmanship.

Responsibilities

Execute common development and production level tasks including receiving inspection of electronic subassemblies and mechanicals.
Perform soldering and rework of electronic/electro-mechanical components using tools such as soldering irons, hot air soldering stations, and wire harness assembly tools.
Conduct electrical testing and checkout of PCBA, harnesses, and integrated systems.
Perform electro-mechanical assembly, including the build-up of box assemblies.
Utilize precision tools such as calibrated measuring tools and torque tools.
Build up wire harnesses and cables for development and lab builds.
Apply adhesives, epoxies, and coatings.
Maintain lab/workstation housekeeping.
Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering team to support the overall manufacturing flow, from design review & release through product verification.
Create, review, and provide feedback to manufacturing plans and procedures.
Utilize electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings to execute manufacturing and test procedures.
Support product kitting, inventory management, and calibration of tooling & equipment.
Support Quality Management by overseeing product quality, ensuring procedures are followed, and quality standards are met.
