About The Position

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. is seeking an Electrician for a project in Henrico, Virginia. The role involves electrical installation and related construction work in manufacturing and industrial settings. The successful candidate will work from plans and blueprints, install and terminate electrical components, and follow company and customer safety and quality procedures. Candidates will be considered for benefits and paid time off after three months. Significant travel may be required, and regular attendance is required.

Requirements

• Skilled in written and verbal communication.
• Complete all required safety and general job training.
• Follow SIC and customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
• Effectively use all required personal protective equipment.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and safely access elevated areas, confined spaces, and other areas of the property.
• Safely operate all equipment and tools involved in the work.
• Meet the strenuous physical demands of the role, including prolonged standing, consistent bending, and working in confined spaces, on ladders and personnel lifts, in workboats, and in awkward positions.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow blueprints, sketches, building plans, directions, and installation plans.
• Prepare work layouts using tools such as voltage testers, wire strippers, levels, and pipe benders.
• Terminate panels while utilizing LOTO procedures.
• Plan installation sequences to avoid obstructions and conflicts with other construction workers’ activities.
• Run cable tray, pull wire, and bend various types of conduit.
• Apply knowledge of motor controls and metering.
• Size branch-circuit overcurrent protection devices and calculate loads for single-phase and three-phase branch circuits.
• Use measurable standards and criteria to evaluate information and make decisions.
• Work in required positions, including overhead, beneath structures, and other positions dictated by job conditions.
• Lift and carry objects of varying weights and respond appropriately to dangerous conditions or situations.
• Attend work regularly and travel as required.
• Complete required safety and general job training and follow SIC and customer safety and quality procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
