About The Position

The Per Diem Electrician performs electrical installations, repairs, troubleshooting, and inspections to help ensure that electrical systems operate safely and efficiently and comply with relevant codes and standards. Reporting to the VP of Facilities Management, this position provides electrical services on a per diem basis as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid State of Connecticut Electrician’s License.
• Experience in electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Connecticut driver’s license and access to a car.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, OSHA safety requirements, and safe work practices.
• Ability to use electrical tools, testing equipment, and personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, inspect, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, equipment, panels, circuits, and related systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance to support the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems.
• Ensure electrical work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and local requirements.
• Identify potential electrical hazards and take appropriate corrective action.
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergency electrical issues as needed.
