About The Position

The Electrician position is a full-time, 240-day contract role with benefits. The contract will be prorated based on the actual start date. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 - 5 years experience preferred
  • Master or Journeyman license preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Commercial / light industrial preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to push/pull a minimum of 20 pounds frequently
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders of various heights
  • Ability to perform physical labor in hot and cold outdoor environments

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics to determine the layout and wiring configurations for electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues such as short circuits, faulty wiring, and malfunctioning equipment, utilizing knowledge of electrical systems and testing equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure electrical systems function properly and comply with safety regulations.
  • Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries when working with high-voltage electrical systems, including using personal protective equipment, securing work areas, and implementing proper grounding techniques.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical apparatus.
  • Examine and identify motor problems, and perform tear-down, cleaning, lubrication, reassembly, and replacement of parts such as bearings, capacitors, starting switches, governors, and brushes.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
  • Maintain equipment.
  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships with others.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations.
  • Work independently, sometimes with minimal supervision.
  • Attend meetings as scheduled by supervisors and district administration.
  • Work overtime or after hours whenever needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
